Make-up Monday: Laneige Perfect Renew Skin Refiner & Perfect Renew Emulsion

Skin Emulsions are very popular in South Korea and now I know why. They work wonders for your face. Especially when it comes to a set of both a skin refiner and an emulsion. When paired together they not only moisturize, they improve the texture of your skin overall.

For this installment of Make-up Monday I will be reviewing Laneige's Perfect Renew Skin Refiner and Perfect Renew Emulsion.
I am very lucky to have a Koreatown here in Las Vegas. I can just drive there and voila, I have access to a bunch of beauty trends from South Korea and an expert to converse with. But you don't have to worry about not having your own Seoul-like place down the road for this set.

Target is now the US distributor for all Laneige products. That's right! Although they do not carry the Skin Refiner they carry everything else you'll need to add some hydration to your life.

Laneige was created by Amore Pacific in 1994 and is based in Seoul, South Korea. They base their technology around water. Not just any water though Mineral water to be precise. After almost 20 years of research they have found a way to harness mineral waters' abilities to hydrate the skin. Most recently they have been mastering the art of revitalizing all skin types to achieve a fully refreshed look for all ages.

The bottles you see you your right are not full-size versions of the product, they are just samples. I think that they are pretty large samples too. I have been using them every single day for about 2 months now. You can even tell how much I have left in each bottle too. A little really does go a long way with these. The sample size is perfect for tossing in your purse too.
This set goes onto your bare skin before your make-up and moisturizer.

The first step is the Perfect Renew Skin Refiner first. It is the clear one. It has the consistency of gel-like water. Very light to the touch and there is almost no fragrance at all. Which is great if you have sensitive skin like I do. The dab you see on my hand to the left was one pumps worth. This was enough for my entire face and neck.

The second step is the Perfect Renew Emulsion. As you can see in the photo to the right it is white and a little opaque. Te small little dot there was enough for my entire face and neck. This formula is a little thicker than the Refiner but a still feels cooling to me skin. The fragrance within this one is my favorite. It is like and simple. Nothing too overbearing and definitely nothing that would make your eyes water.

Then you just go go about with your normal beauty routine. If you are anything like me you put on a facial moisturizer with sunscreen and then your make-up.

I have to say I noticed a difference right off the bat. I could tell my desert-dried skin was actually plump and didn't look as dull as it usually does. By the end of the first week I could see my fine lines were gone. My major wrinkles (I know I don't have major wrinkles, I am talking about the deeper lines on my face) were still there though. So if you are looking for an anti-aging treatment, you would need to go with a more powerful version. If the goal you have in mind is younger skin.

However if you are like me and just can see that the summer/winter heat is really wreaking havoc on your complexion this is the step you may need. My dry skin was no longer peeling around my nose during allergy season, and my forehead and chin weren't breaking out because of the dryness being fought by oil production. By the end of week two I was getting asked what I had changed recently. Others were noticing my healthier skin too. Would I recommend it? Yes!

Want to get your hands on some for yourself?

Have fun with your beauty rountine and mix things up a little. But don't forget to
Kdrama on.
